We believe that a healthy future begins with the first drop of clean water.  Over half of Ugandans do not have access to clean water.  Everyone deserves to have this basic need met.  Once village residents are healthy and free of disease, they can begin to attend school and work and they are better able to provide for their families.

We also raise funds to provide micro grants to Ugandans who are looking to start a small business.  Whether they are interested in opening a fruit stand or selling paper beads, these funds help them get started.  Funds are handled and overseen by a Ugandan member of The First Drop team. 

When talking to Ugandans, you will hear that the most precious gift they can give their children is the gift of education.  A future goal of The First Drop is to provide tuition through monthly sponsorships to children in the villages where we build wells.
